ERECTION PROCEDURE
1. Mechanically fasten clips through "old" roof into purlins.
2. Fasten CEES to the clips.
3. Fasten new metal roofing to the DECK CEES.

 


THE CLIPS AND CEES FOR THIS "SIMPLE" RE-ROOF SYSTEM ARE READILY AVAILABLE AND ARE COMBINED TO FUNCTION AS THE BASE FOR YOUR NEW METAL ROOF. THE SIZE OF THE CEE USED IS A FUNCTION OF THE SPACING OF THE ROOF PURLINS AND THE SPACING OF THE CLIPS.

THE STANDARD ZEE CLIP IS 3" DEEP AND CLEARS THE DEPTH OF MOST EXISTING METAL ROOFS. ADDITION OF THE DEPTH OF THE CEE ALLOWS FOR THE INSERTION OF INSULATION.

THE TABLE BELOW LISTS THE DESIGN CRITERIA OF THE CEE. A SIMPLE CALCULATION OF THE STRESS IN THE CEE ENABLES YOU TO DETERMINE THE SPACING OF THE CLIPS.

THE SIMPLICITY OF THE SYSTEM ASSURES LOW LABOR COSTS.  THE COST OF THE COMPONENTS IS LESS THAN 40¢ / S.F.

                        (c) = 40 p.s.i.

CALCULATION:
f=1/10 x 40 x 5 x 42 x 12 = 22,486 p.s.i. <30,000 p.s.i.
               0.171
